The Millennial Future is a tourism cooperative founded by the members of the indigenous Ngabe community, Boca Guariviara, and supported by two former Peace Corps Volunteers who lived and worked in the area from 2016 until 2018.
Our vision is to share the rich Ngabe culture and give visitors the experience of living a different lifestyle. With The Millennial Future, you will explore a side of Panama seldom seen.
Get off the beaten tourist trail
This is a retreat experience where you will walk in the shoes of indigenous Panamanians. The community of Boca Guariviara is located in one of the 11 indigenous reservations of Panama. The community is accessible only by boat and lacks many of the comforts of US style amenities. Take the opportunity to interact with the locals, try local organic foods, and explore a world nearly forgotten by first world globalization.
This can be a powerful experience. You will find that what the villagers of Boca Guariviara lack in material possessions is greatly made up for in natural beauty and simplicity of lifestyle. By escaping the mundane and embracing a different way of life, we recognize all the similarities that bind us as a human species. This experience can leave us with greater respect for ourselves, our lives, and for the people around us.

Our retreats provide you with detailed information on where we will go, for how long, and how we will get there. We can organize private travel while in country, but we will recommend giving the quality public bus system a try. Between our trip into the community we will visit the mountain town of Boquete and stop by the beautiful beaches of Bocas Del Toro!
While in the community of Boca Guariviara, there are a multitude of activities for you to choose from! These range from cooking and artisan work all the way to visiting farms and playing soccer! But most importantly you will get to interact with the local peoples and learn a new way to live life.
